Continuing Education

It does not fall within the Educational Council's mission to offer further and continuing education. However, the Council does recognise  the need for further development of the competencies among our candidates once they have concluded their degree programmes.

The Department of Odontology/ School of Dentistry and the School of Oral Health Care are both engaged in further and continued education of the members of the dental team.

Specialist dentist degree programmes

The Department of Odontology offers the specialist dentist degree programme in orthodontics; and in collaboration with the Copenhagen University Hospital (Rigshospitalet), it provides the specialist dentist degree programme in dental, oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Please note that further and continued training is only offered in Danish language.

 

The Department of Odontology/School of Dentistry offers a range of further training courses, including courses held in collaboration with the Danish Dental Association. The School of Dentistry in Copenhagen and the Danish Dental Association have made an agreement about further and continued education for dentists.

The Danish Dental Association organise an annual meeting in the springtime and a symposium in the autumn. The Department of Odontology further and continued education hosts an annual symposium in January and various hands-on courses. The department's education programme is certified with ISO 9001.

 

 

The School of Oral Health Care offers continued education for dental assistants and dental hygienists. The school also offers a continued educational programme for dental assistants in Dental Practice at the level of an academy profession degree. The students can select one or more model(s) and after completion six modules, they get af Profession Degree in Dental Practice. 

In addition to the announced programmes, we also offer tailor-made courses and activities in-house or elsewhere for dental clinics and local dental communities. The conditions upon which local arrangements are held and the degree of adaptation needed are agreed individually.
